Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Assist the Production General Manager (PGM) in preparing the yearly budget, including production capacity planning and manpower requirements.
- Support the PGM in designing Powerwell culture activities and departmental team-building initiatives.
- Manage demand forecasting: coordinate sales-production forecasts, propose project ETDs during negotiation stages, and provide advanced Group production capacity planning to the Production Manager.
Production Planning & Pre-Planning
- Execute project busbar planning, monitor busbar inventory levels, and assign/review outputs of metal standard parts (product design and production) prior to production.
- Plan and organize target completion dates for each section (Metal Part, Assembly, Nameplate, QAQC) while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime.
- Continuously monitor production progress; identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and update Project Engineers and PGM on ETD changes.
Materials Planning & Control
- Review production ETDs in terms of available space and manpower and align with Project Engineers on achievable timelines without incurring additional costs.
- Manage material issues: missing, wrong, replacement, or delayed materials; coordinate with Production Engineers, PPC, Project Engineers, and Purchasing to minimize impact on ETDs.
- Update purchase ETAs in line with production plans to ensure effective cash flow management.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with Project, Production, and Supply Chain teams’ post-production (FAT and delivery) to ensure smooth handover.
- Report daily at Group Level to PGM on On-Time Delivery (OTD), RTA success/failure, space and manpower capacity, and provide root-cause analysis with improvement recommendations.
- Organize and lead weekly Group meetings with Marketing & Sales, Engineering, and Production, ensuring follow-ups and circulation of meeting minutes.
- Organize and lead weekly departmental meetings for Kejuruteraan Powerwell Sdn Bhd.
Continuous Improvement & Outsourcing
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, optimize resources, and reduce costs.
- Manage outsourced completed panel deliveries to Powerwell factory, coordinate with Project Engineers and outsourcers on technical and design requirements.
Learning & Development
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in business process management to enhance operational and strategic performance.
Others
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Management.
Reporting Lines
- Directly report to the Production General Manager.
- Submit all reports to the Managing Director and PGM; escalate cross-departmental challenges to the Managing Director for timely resolution.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are a plus
- Experience: Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and control within a manufacturing or production environment, with exposure to cross-functional coordination with minimum 3 years experiences.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production, sales, and operational data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- ERP/MRP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software to manage, monitor, and analyse production data effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external partners.
- Precision & Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing schedules, inventory, and production processes to ensure operational efficiency and quality.
- Leadership & Coordination: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and coordinate complex production and business planning activities.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of capacity planning, demand forecasting, cash flow management, and cost optimization in a manufacturing environment.
